The focus of my scientific work is on Software Engineering methods and techniques for the development of multiagent systems. I received my PhD from the University of the Saarland for my thesis on the MASSIVE development method while I was working in the Multiagent Systems group of the German Research Center for Artifical Intelligence (DFKI). There, I was mainly applying multiagent technology on intermodal route planning and transportation scheduling problems. During a short-term research fellowship at BT's Adastral Park Labs, I joined the Intelligent Business Systems research group in the context of Eurescom's MESSAGE project.
Before coming to the DFKI, I studied at the Computer Science department of the University of Kaiserslautern and graduated in 1996. I did my master's thesis in the department for Term Rewriting Systems where I developed a software framework for distributed search applications according to the teamwork approach. I was also working for the Software Engineering department as a software developer of some early web applications.
Currently, I am working as a full time software architect at iteratec, Munich, where I am developing software architectures mostly, but not only, for web applications.
My spare time is mostly centered around music. I am the drummer for the Munich-based band jemand and a I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music ranging from Country over Jazz to Zappa. Back in Saarbrücken, I was the drummer for The Flake as well as for the Big Band of the University of the Saarland and for the Funtom jazz quintett.
